Building tools, not just brands

TURBO was designed as a kinetic identity – a brand built around motion, transformation and experimentation. But creating an expressive visual system is only part of the challenge. The real question is how clients actually use it day to day without losing consistency, distinctiveness or impact.

To solve this, we developed a custom generative type tool built from TURBO’s variable typeface. Using a series of intuitive sliders and a curated colour palette, users can stretch, compress and randomise letterforms to create unique compositions in real time – either static or animated.

The tool extends the core idea behind the identity itself. Rather than relying on fixed templates or rigid brand rules, it gives the client the flexibility to generate their own messaging while remaining rooted in TURBO’s typographic DNA. Every output feels connected to the brand, but never repetitive.

More importantly, it shifts creative control closer to the client. Instead of needing a designer for every social post, headline or event graphic, the system enables fast, expressive communication that still feels intentional and recognisably TURBO.

For us, projects like this are about more than aesthetics. They are about designing systems, tools and frameworks that help brands communicate more effectively, move faster and stay visually coherent as they evolve.
