Leading paper manufacturer Arjowiggins Creative Papers commissioned Blast to create the identity and marketing materials for ‘Inuit’, a new brand of premium uncoated paper.
The brief was to create a promotional campaign which appealed to both designers and printers, making the paper synonymous with creativity and fantastic print. An original and strategic approach was required to differentiate the paper from the many similar products (and similar campaigns) on the market.
Our solution was simple, we designed a typeface based on the Inuit people’s traditional syllabic alphabet, then used it as a promotional tool, giving it away to designers, as well as utilising it as part of the brand identity. The typeface is a thing of value which tapped into designers passion for all things typographic – it also gave us a perfect vehicle to highlight the quality and printability of the paper.
